You’ve probably seen search chips without realising it. When you type a word into the Gmail search bar, for example, 'Invoice', a row of grey buttons appears just below. These are Search Chips.

This feature allows you to select up to five consecutive messages from any Teams Chat or Channel and send them directly into another conversation. It keeps the original sender’s name, the formatting, and (most importantly) the order.

The secret sauce of Gemini for everyday users lies in how it bridges the gap between the different Workspace apps. One of our favourite ways to do this is with the @ function in the Gemini side panel to reference specific files. We find this especially useful when composing emails in Gmail and need to summarise the content of a document saved in Google Drive.
