Mystery Solved: Why Can’t My Team See the Comments I Left in Google Sheets?
Google Sheets is one of our favourite Google Workspace apps. It houses excellent collaboration features, but you must use them correctly to get the full benefit.
Mystery: You left several detailed feedback comments in a shared Google spreadsheet, but your teammates claim they never got any notifications or can't see what you're referring to. What's going on?
The Solution
In Google Sheets, you can add comments to Google Sheets or Notes to a cell, and they both serve a different purpose. Using the Notes option instead of Comments will not start a comment thread, and you cannot @ mention someone (to tag them).
Step 1 - Right-click the cell and ensure you click Comment (Ctrl + Alt + M / Cmd + Option + M)

Step 2 - Use @ followed by their email address in the comment box.
Step 3 - Tick the box to assign if you need to give the action to someone specifically.
You are now ready to collaborate!
