Mystery Solved: How to Catch Up on a Missed Teams Meeting in 2 Minutes with Copilot

Using Microsoft 365 Copilot, you can get a summary of a Microsoft Teams meeting in seconds.

🔍 Mystery: Somehow you forgot you had a Teams meeting, so you joined late and missed the key discussions. You missed the meeting because you were busy and don't have time to watch it all back. What can you do?

Solution 1 - You Joined Teams Late

If you join a Teams meeting late, you don't have to ask your colleagues to catch you up; you can just ask Copilot.

Step 1 - Click the Copilot icon in the top toolbar of your Teams window. On the transcription pop-up, click 'Start'.

Step 2 - In the side pane, create a prompt or use a prompt suggestion, such as 'Recap the meeting so far.'

Step 3 - Copilot will give you a private bulleted list of the main topics covered and any decisions already made; no one needs to know or be disturbed during the meeting or after!

Solution 2 - Post Teams Meeting

After a Teams meeting ends, you can use the 'recap' option to access the summary Copilot has put together.

Step 1 - Go to the Meeting Chat.

Step 2 - Click the Recap option.

Step 3 - You will see an AI-generated overview, Notes, and Action Items, each with a name attached.

If you need to know something specific, you can still ask Copilot questions, for example, 'What tasks were assigned to me?'.
