When viewing multiple calendars at the same time in Outlook Calendar, it can get messy with the overlay option. We have busy calendars, so when trying to arrange training sessions, we use the split view option.

Here is everything you need to know about what it is, why you need it, and how to turn it on.

By default, when you select multiple calendars, it will usually be the overlay option. You can see below my calendar in green and Lauren's overlayed in pink.

Open your Outlook Calendar.

The Outlook Calendar Split View option sits on the top menu ribbon; select the calendars you would like to view.

Outlook calendar toolbar with Week view selected, Filter applied, and Share calendar and Print buttons visible.

Then click the button, and it will appear as shown below, with my calendar in green alongside Lauren's pink calendar on the right side. This allows you to compare schedules at a glance with less confusion. You can drag and drop events around the calendar to suit all schedules.

Remember to make the calendars easier to differentiate by using different colours.
