Interact with PDFs, Images & Videos in Google Drive with Gemini

Google Gemini can answer questions, provide summaries and generate new content from PDFs, images and videos in Google Drive.

PDFs in Google Drive

1. Open a PDF in Drive to see a detailed summary of the file.

2. Open the Gemini side panel to ask questions or generate content from the PDF.

To generate content, try prompts like this:

• List key points

• Draft an email to send this file to my team

• Summarise the information on XYZ

• Create a proposal for XYZ

Note: Your view may vary depending on your PDF settings in Drive. This guide demonstrates opening PDFs in a new tab to access full functionality.

Images in Google Drive

1. Open an image and the Gemini side panel in Google Drive to see a summary.

You can enter prompts like the following:

• Summarise this image

• Extract text from this image

• Extract information from this receipt into a table

• Generate alternate text for this image

• Write a story about this image

• Describe this image with emojis

Videos in Google Drive

1. Open a video and the Gemini side panel in Google Drive to see a summary.

You can enter prompts like the following:

• Create a meeting summary

• Create a quiz

• List learning points

• List key actions

• Find the part where we discussed XYZ

This can be useful for meeting recordings or learning videos.
