How to Use The New Outlook Sweep Feature

If you are using Outlook on the Web or the New Outlook, you have access to a great new feature.

The Sweep tool in Outlook helps you declutter your inbox and is a very simple way to create rules for your repeating emails in just a few clicks.

Once you select an email you would like to Sweep, you will see the icon appear on the top ribbon.

Email app ribbon with Home tab open, showing actions like Delete, Archive, Report, Meeting, Sweep, Quick steps, and a tooltip.

I selected an email from Lauren and clicked the 'Sweep' button, the broom icon.

The sweep pop-up will appear, and you can tell it what you would like to do with these emails, for example, delete and move to the bin. This is great for notification emails that you just don't need and is ideal for bulk moving or deleting these messages.

You can set this rule for future messages by selecting the 'any future messages' option. This can work well towards a goal of inbox zero.
